German Historical Museum
Some Cool Stuff, But Pretty Much Just Another History Museum
The German Historical Museum had, you guessed it, a ton of German history in it, with some things dating back to a few thousand years ago. Our task for this museum was to find two different either works of art, manuscripts, artifacts, etc. that was dated to during one of the time periods that we were lectured on in class. The two I chose are pictured above, while the one to the right is merely a photo of a fight I thought was cool; I like the lighting in the center of it.
The picture in the top right is of a movie poster for Metropolis!, a movie that came out right around the turn of the twentieth century, which we talked about briefly during Search class in Otzenhausen, and which happened to relate extremely well to my story "The Machine Stops" which I talked about in an earlier blog post. The top left picture is of a painting of the famous champion of the Reformation, the scourge of indulgences himself, Martin Luther. We spent a lot of time on him during Search, definitely a relevant guy in the grand scheme of things. |
